PERFORMANCE | DANCE | SOUNDSCAPE LIVE | FOR AN AUDIENCE FROM 6 YEARS OLD

Ruth is an ancient and future creature, a being that transcends humanity. In its movements, it dances a cycle of love and nostalgia, not heroic, but soft and tentacled. Ruth is an evolving event that contains multitudes and that everyone, in the end, will want to caress. Ruth is a Tout Public (children aged 6 and over) performance that invites spectators to generate an emotional kinship with the shapeshifting creature who asks the question “how can I live and die well on a damaged planet?” The audience witnesses the creation of a poetic refuge, a stronghold of alliances with elements of nature, the invention of a new language, and the delivery of secret signs to the future.

Bio Artist

Francesca Cola is a multidisciplinary artist who interweaves movement, visual art, and technology in a transmedia poetics that explores the relationship between body, sound, and the imaginary. Her research focuses on an intergenerational semiotics that investigates the performative ritual through the body, visual art, and sound codes. The body in movement dialogues with sound maps and cultural stratifications of the imaginary. She collaborates regularly with Lavanderia a Vapore, producing both in Italy and abroad. Her works have been hosted in festivals and spaces such as the Prague Biennale of Performing Arts, Unidram Potsdam, Mirabilia Festival, Reggia di Venaria, NU Festival, and Fondazione Sandretto.
