A performative talk presenting CITTÀ SOLA: a modular project created by the lacasadargilla company that experiments with multiple narrative forms articulated in different scenic and/or installation hypotheses. City Alone formidable book that traverses loneliness to and beyond our present is divided into seven chapters for ‘special’ tenants, seven artists who have populated Olivia Laing’s City Alone, a real “city unto itself” that we discover is, after all, a very crowded place. We begin with Edward Hopper’s aquarium-paintings, and with Andy Warhol who was “terrified of physical contact” only coming out in “an armor of cameras and tape recorders” to continue, for example, with activist, writer and photographer David Wojnarowicz and his la la Rimbaud masks, to Zoe Leonard and her 302 dried and stitched fruits to ‘repair’ the shattering of grief and loneliness.

For the Attraversamenti Multipli festival, the lacasadargilla company has constructed a format consisting of a talk and an audio landscape that involves meeting the audience to explore the book ‘The Lonely City: Adventures in the Art of Being Alone” by Olivia Laing.
