Presentation performance/show
For the Attraversamenti Multipli festival, the lacasadargilla company has created a format consisting of a talk and an audio landscape/sound path that involves meeting the public to explore the book “City Alone” by Olivia Laing in the city of Rome and to walk together through that very special solitude of bodies and souls linked to living in the big cities of our present. The pages of the book will open like a pop-up onto other books, images and music in constant dialogue with the text. A small multimedia kit to expand the imaginary, the reflective horizon and the geographies traced by the pages of Città sola.

CITTÀ SOLA #Variazione tonnellate di fiori nel mio cortile by lacasadargilla proposes a sound landscape through headphones listening to the reduction of the novel Città Sola
curated by Fabrizio Sinisi, almost a melologue made of the orchestration of the voices of Lisa Ferlazzo Natoli, Emiliano Masala and Tania Garribba. The sound score constructed by Alessandro Ferroni and composed strictly and not by chance of Songs and Ballads from the jazz, rock, pop, electropop and New York folk repertoire constitutes the soundscape. The spectator will be able to listen to Laing’s text – like a narrative intrusion among the ruins and remains of the city of Rome in the park of Torre del Fiscale – and thus be somehow forced to change his gaze in relation to the landscape, his own solitude and the work of art as resistance and testimony. A metropolitan project that experiments here with an intimate form of listening linked to a single place – almost an island – in the city.
CITTÀ SOLA is a modular project created by the company lacasadargilla that experiments with several narrative forms articulated in different scenic and/or installation hypotheses. The project-matrix of Città sola is the urban podcast/performance realised for the city of Milan. A Piccolo Teatro di Milano production during the Festival Presente Indicativo (April/May 2022).
