Giuliano Scabia’s Letters to a Wolf are a sort of invocation to the last exemplar of the species, an Endling – a dangerous and fragile beast, solitary and magnificent. Letters left in the woods, written at dusk behind windows fogged up by frost, nocturnal letters surrounded by wild nature, as if to ward off extinction. So that one day the earth may once again be populated by a form of life, whether human or animal. For Attraversamenti Multipli 2025, lacasadargilla recalls and transcribes these letters, collecting fragments and remnants and entrusting them to a concert of seven performers. The recordings can be listened to on headphones, among the ruins of the Torre del Fiscale park. An intimate and layered listening experience where Giuliano Scabia’s text takes shape in an unprecedented soundscape that blends with the sounds and noises of the park itself. Almost as if that forest of young and old oaks, junipers, birches, willows and elms could be found in the park itself.

The work conceived for Attraversamenti Multipli 2025 is an extract and reworking of the site-specific work by lacasadargilla Beautiful Creatures. Terre di lupi, di lantanidi e ginestre (Lands of wolves, lanthanides and broom) for the 50th anniversary of the Teatro Fabbricone in Prato (Produced by Teatro Metastasio in Prato).

lacasadargilla presents Lettere al lupo in the form of an immersive sound installation, which can be listened to on headphones while immersed in the urban “forest” that is the Torre del Fiscale park.
