PERFORMANCE | DANCE + LYRIC SINGING + LIVE MUSIC

A contemporary staging in site-specific format for one of the most celebrated Baroque masterpieces composed by Claudio Monteverdi. A 17th-century madrigal in performance form inspired by the epic poem The Liberation of Jerusalem by Torquato Tasso.
On stage, mezzo-soprano Chiara Osella, accompanied by harpsichordist Angela Naccari narrates the epic story from the sad epilogue of the two young warrior lovers Clorinda and Tancredi, played respectively by Martina La Ragione and Carlo Massari, who also signs creation and choreography of the opera.
An experience that links past and present and helps us reflect on the atrocious repetition of the human dynamics of violence.

C&C identifies itself as a project for the creation and development of an “amphibious” artistic language directed toward a dramaturgical investigation, closely related to contemporary social issues. Characterized by a work devoid of superstructures, C&C is interested in the depth of interpersonal relationships, aiming to bring truth to the stage through a deeply physical and necessary language: a search for relational truth that characterizes the poetics and is combined with a total imaginative openness capable of bringing the audience closer to the theatrical experience.
