PERFORMANCE | DANZA | LIBANO
Chris was asking: “What is wrong with me?”
Fragmentation is a solo dance piece that explores this question through movement.
It examines the disconnection and reconnection of the body with itself and the space around it. It uses changes in muscle tension, shifts in size and spatial orientation, and varied movement patterns to show how the body can break apart and come back together.
Chris experiments with how the body moves between control and instability, using simple, repeated actions that sometimes become unpredictable, a dance between stillness and dynamic, animalistic movement.
The work began during the Beiroot Bodies 3 intensive program by Beirut Physical Lab and expanded through a residency at MACAM in Lebanon during late 2024.
“Fragmentation” will have its premiere in Italy.
The Italian tour is realised in collaboration with the network/project Solidarity in Motion.

Bio Artist
CHRISTOPHE AL HABER is an interdisciplinary artist whose work lies at the intersection of photography, contemporary dance, and live performance. His practice examines how emotion, memory, and identity are carried, revealed, and concealed through both stillness and motion. Trained in physical theater and shaped by lived experiences, he uses photography not only as a method of visual documentation but as a performative act, a way of holding time, inhabiting space, and embodying states of being. I am currently an associate dancer with Beirut Physical Lab, where he continues to deepen his movement research and collaborative performance practice.
Beirut Physical Lab is an independent organization that aims to develop the physical theater and contemporary dance scene in Beirut and its surroundings. Its objective is to support artists by creating a safe space to express themselves, work on their personal projects, and give them tools to develop their skills.
