INOUSSA DEMBELE, griot and percussion maestro
Born in 1987 in the Ivory Coast, in a family of traditional griots of Djoula ethnicity originally from Burkina Faso. He spent a simple childhood immersed in traditional Mandengue music, which was listened to and played every day in his family. That’s how a young Inoussa got an early reputation as a talented and multifaceted artist, skilled at both melodic instruments such as the ‘Ngoni (African guitar/harp) and the countless drums of the Mandengue area (djembe, krin, barà, dundun, etc). In 2010 he recorded his first record in Burkina, “Djelia” in which he brilliantly reinterprets the traditional repertoire of Burkina Faso.
