No Comfort Zone esprime un’idea di creazione contemporanea come interazione tra differenti linguaggi e pratica di ricerca comprendendo un margine auspicabile di non conforto, o rischio, come parte fruttuosa del processo. Riconosciamo nel movimento del corpo e nel movimento del suono una stessa entità che sottoponiamo ad un pari trattamento decostruttivo/ ricostruttivo. Nel corpo sonoro cerchiamo una dimensione non organica, non fluida, non scorrevole: un segno capace di restituire la frammentarietà dei pensieri e l’opposta tensione verso quell’esperienza di continuum costantemente sfuggente. Ascoltando Beethoven.
The project was selected within the context of the Choreographic Residences’s project 3.0 funded by Lavanderia a Vapore / Piemonte Vivo with the support of Torinodanza Festival, Interplay Festival Companhia Instavel – Teatro Municipal Campo Alegre and Vo’Arte – Espaço Rural de Artes (PT).
No Comfort Zone explores the idea of contemporary creation as interaction between different languages and research practices, and considers the discomfort, and risk, of entering into the unknown as important elements within the creative process. Both music and movement are subject to a process of deconstruction and reconstruction. In the body we seek a non organic dimension: neither fluid, nor smooth, rather; a tension capable of restoring the fragmented nature of a continuity constantly receding. Listening to Beethoven.
EQUILIBRIO RESIDUO
Dal 2014 la danzatrice e coreografa Sara Marasso e il bassista e compositore Stefano Risso iniziano a collaborare ad una serie di progetti artistici in cui è presente una forte relazione tra movimento e suono. Il loro lavoro è stato presentato, con riconoscimenti di pubblico e critica, in diversi festival internazionali di musica e arti performative tra cui Interplay International contemporary dance Festival, Signal – Autunno Danza, Artissima Fiera internazionale dell’arte contemporanea, Inshadow International Festival of Video, Performance and Technology, Fondazione Sandretto Re Rebaudengo.
EQUILIBRIO RESIDUO
Since 2014, the dancer-choreographer Sara Marasso and the bassist-composer Stefano Risso have been collaborating in a series of artistic projects in which a strong relationship beetween movement and sound is present. They call this artistic direction of research and creation Equilibrio Residuo. “An interdisciplinary research and composition that intersects and expands the expressive languages of dance and music”. Their work, which has received both public and press recognition, has been presented in a wide array of international festivals such as: Interplay International contemporary dance Festival, Signal – Autunno Danza, Artissima Fiera internazionale dell’arte contemporanea, Inshadow International Festival of Video, Performance and Technology, Fondazione Sandretto Re Rebaudengo per l’Arte contemporanea.
