Margine Operativo<\/strong> (Operating Margin) is a multidisciplinary artistic project<\/strong>. From 2001 to 2013, Margine Operativo<\/em> produced and organised the festival\u2019s thirteen editions. During these 13 years, Attraversamenti Multipli<\/em> received funding from the Lazio Region, the Province of Rome and the Municipality of Rome. The festival\u2019s mission is to bring performance arts in inhabited spaces and unusual areas, so as to interact with a vast variety of people and use such artistic actions to enhance the spaces themselves \u2013 seeing them in as spaces of life and relations. \nIt is active in the spheres of theatre<\/strong>, performance arts<\/strong> and video<\/strong>.
\nSince its early stages, Margine Operativo took on a multiform nature that pushed it to engage with various dimensions of artistic and cultural production:
\n– conceptual development and organisation of festivals and multidisciplinary events;
\n– creation and production of theatre shows and performative actions;
\n– artistic research on video language, from film-making (documentary and fiction) to live- sets;
\n– organisation of courses\/workshops and training provision in theatre and video-making.
\nIt is in the project\u2019s DNA to think of arts as a device that can trigger change and strive for connections with other projects \/artists\/spaces.
\nThis led us to venture in yet another pathway: the creation of Attraversamenti Multipli<\/strong> (Multiple Crossovers<\/em>), a multidisciplinary festival we have been organising on yearly basis since 2001. Attraversamenti Multipli<\/em> investigates relations and interferences between contemporary artistic languages and the present, by proposing artistic events in unusual urban spaces in the city of Rome.
\nAttraversamenti Multipli<\/em> condenses in a multi-layer project our artistic research on the possible combinations between the arts and urban spaces, and between artistic action and places of life.<\/p>\n
\nFor the editions of 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006 and 2007, one of the festival\u2019s events was part of the official \u201cNotte Bianca\u201d programme, the night-time festival of Rome.
\nDuring its various editions, Attraversamenti Multipli hosted dozens of artists from both the Italian and international contemporary scene. With a special focus on the independent and \u201cnew\u201d scene, the festival chose uncommon locations and organised workshops and conferences, reaching out to a wide and diversified audience.<\/p>\n
